Be A Part of the 2009 USYS Nationals!

The 2009 US Youth Soccer Association National Championships are coming to Massachusetts, July 21-26! All matches will be played at Citizens Bank Fields at Progin Park in Lancaster, Mass., home of the Mass Youth Soccer Association.

Mass Youth Soccer is currently looking for volunteers to help with the US Youth Soccer National Championships Ball Kid Program. Each match is assigned eight Ball Kids. A Ball Kid serves the game by enabling the players to compete at this high level of play without having to retrieve the ball when it leaves the playing area. Volunteers must be at least 13 years of age to serve as a Ball Kid.

The Ball Kid’s primary volunteer commitment involves being available for the matches on July 22, 23, 24 or 26 for the day (approximately 7 a.m.-3 p.m.). You can volunteer for any single day, or for multiple days. You will be assigned to a group of eight volunteer Ball Kids, so get your friends together to all sign up! Adults are also encouraged to volunteer as Ball Kids and can assist in coordinating a group of Ball Kids at a field.

If you are interested in this exciting opportunity to be a part of US Youth Soccer’s National Championships, please contact our local Ball Kids Coordinator, Andy Page at andytpage@aol.com or the local National Cups Coordinator, Terri Filippetti at tfilippetti@townisp.com.

The US Youth Soccer National Championships cap a yearlong series of competitions for boys’ and girls’ teams in multiple age brackets, who earn their way from state to regional championship tournaments. US Youth Soccer State Champions and selected wildcard teams through US Youth Soccer Regional Leagues in most age groups are eligible to compete in one of four US Youth Soccer Regional Championships. The champions in the under-14 through under-19 age brackets from each regional event and the US Youth Soccer National League will converge on Lancaster, July 21-26, to enjoy the nation’s top competition.
