Be A Part of the 2009 USYS Nationals!

The 2009 US Youth Soccer Association National Championships are coming to Massachusetts, July 21-26! All matches will be played at Citizens Bank Fields at Progin Park in Lancaster, Mass., home of the Mass Youth Soccer Association.

Mass Youth Soccer is currently looking for volunteers to help with the US Youth Soccer National Championships Ambassador Program. Each of the 60 teams participating in the event is assigned an Ambassador, who is responsible for welcoming the team to Massachusetts during their five-day stay in the Lancaster area. Volunteers must be at least 18 years old to serve as an Ambassador.

The Ambassador’s primary volunteer commitment involves making contact with their assigned team before they arrive in Massachusetts, greeting the team when they do arrive, presenting them with a local resource kit and helping to familiarize players, their families and their coaches with local area resources during their stay. Ambassadors are also welcomed to optionally attend their assigned team’s tournament matches to cheer them on!

If you are interested in this exciting opportunity to be a part of US Youth Soccer’s National Championships, please contact our local Ambassador Coordinator, Howie Blatt at hnblatt@charter.net or instruction@mayouthsoccer.org.

The US Youth Soccer National Championships cap a yearlong series of competitions for boys’ and girls’ teams in multiple age brackets, who earn their way from state to regional championship tournaments. US Youth Soccer State Champions and selected wildcard teams through US Youth Soccer Regional Leagues in most age groups are eligible to compete in one of four US Youth Soccer Regional Championships. The champions in the under-14 through under-19 age brackets from each regional event and the US Youth Soccer National League will converge on Lancaster, July 21-26, to enjoy the nation’s top competition.
