Be An Ambassador At USYS National Championships!

The US Youth Soccer Association 2009 National Championships are coming to Massachusetts from July 21-26. All matches will be played at the Citizens Bank Fields at Progin Park in Lancaster, Massachusetts, home of the Mass Youth Soccer Association.

Mass Youth Soccer is currently looking for volunteers to help with the US Youth Soccer National Championships Ambassador Program. The Ambassador Program brings local volunteers together with the 60 US Youth Soccer National Championships teams who will be earning their place to play in the highest-level youth soccer tournament in the country! Each team is assigned an Ambassador. An Ambassador serves as someone to welcome the team to Massachusetts during their five-day stay in the Lancaster area. Volunteers must be at least 18 years old to serve as an Ambassador.

The Ambassador’s primary volunteer commitment involves making contact with their assigned team before they arrive in Massachusetts, greeting the team when they arrive, presenting them with a local resource kit and helping to familiarize players, their families and their coaches with local area resources during their stay. Ambassadors are also welcome to optionally attend their assigned team’s tournament matches, to cheer them on.

If you are interested in this helpful volunteer opportunity, need more info, or have questions, please contact our local Ambassador Coordinator, Howie Blatt, at HNBlatt@charter.net or instruction@mayouthsoccer.org.

The US Youth Soccer National Championships cap a yearlong series of competitions for boys and girls teams in multiple age brackets as teams earn their way from the top teams in their state to the regional championship tournaments. US Youth Soccer State Champions and selected wildcard teams through US Youth Soccer Regional Leagues in most age groups are eligible to compete in one of four US Youth Soccer Regional Championships. The champions in the Under-14 through Under-19 age brackets from each regional event and the US Youth Soccer National League will converge on Lancaster, July 21-26, to enjoy the nation's top competition.
